FAQ

What is the difference for heat shrink sealing and the mechanical sealing?

There are two common methods of connecting Dome Fiber Optic Splice Closure, namely, the heat shrink sealing and the mechanical sealing.

Heat shrink sealing involves the use of heat shrinkable sleeves to seal the cable and the connector. The sleeves are made of a special material that shrinks when exposed to heat. The heat causes the sleeves to shrink and wrap tightly around the fiber cable, providing a secure seal.

mechanical sealing involves the use of a clamp or a screw to secure the fiber cable. This method of sealing is more permanent and secure, but it requires more time and effort to install. Mechanical sealing is often used in places where the environment is harsh.

In conclusion, both heat shrink and mechanical sealing techniques are effective methods of sealing fiber splice closure. The choice of sealing method depends on the environmental requirements of the installation.
